Serena needed to create some of her best tennis to beat Venus who won the group at Rod Laver Arena by rejecting hard to the end.
Serena tumbled to the ground after she won, with hands noticeable all around and eyes wide with doubt, before she praised her sister for rousing her keep running in Melbourne.
"She's a stunning individual, it is extremely unlikely I would be at 23 without her, it is highly unlikely I would have anything without her. She's the main reason the Williams sisters exist, so thank you for motivating me to be as well as can be expected be." Serena said while holding the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup at the trophy service.

The win moved her past Steffi Graf on the rundown ever pummel champs and she now sits only one short of Margaret Court's long-standing record of 24.
"Serena Williams, that is my younger sibling, folks, Congratulations Serena on number 23, I've been in that spot with you, some of them I've lost with you. Your win has dependably been my win, you realize that. I'm gigantically glad for you, you mean everything to me." Venus said.
Eight years have gone since their last terrific hammer decider at Wimbledon in 2009, and their joined ages in Melbourne indicated the most seasoned significant last ever challenged.
